The trouble with head torches, and the reason why a police bod may have an issue is that your visability from the front is massively reduced when you are turning your head from side to side or looking down at your chainrings etc.

The legal requirement of a front light is to be seen, not to see with.

I'd use it in conjunction with a normal front light aswell.

Cover your ass legally and do as much as you can to ride safe :)

Wow, you were unlucky, that must be the only day they actually have done something. HQ for Cumbria Constabulary is up here.
 
Deelam, sorry mate just tried taking a photo but did'nt come out very well!
I have found this though, a proper test and proper photos, my camera phone can't compete with that.

got some cateye stadiums on long term lend soon after this thread started. 3hr charge time for 3hr burn time is pretty impressive. battery is still on the big/ heavy side tho they're fairly bright.
