See my gallery.

I just bought it for £26 listed as a 'Tange mountain bike' on e-bay.

I haven't picked it up yet so no real info other than the pic.

Cheers.

that .....kinda.....looks......like a raliegh with muddy fox stickers on it
either that or an old old fox (i might be wrong tho)
mike :?

Don't say that mikee.

It might not be the crown jewels, but surely its not a fraud.

Anyway, there must be more knowledge that this on the forum.

Or is it just for wannabes with no real mountain biking heritage in their veins ;)

looks like the real deal to me.
there is a muddy fox seeker in the bikes section i think, looks very similar.
also the decals look spot-on for mid 80's i reckon..

lets see some better pics then
even if it is raliegh at 26 quid you've not been ripped off
it's just muddy fox had more manipulated /fancy tubes than that
the cheap ones were sold as silver fox'es.

I don't know the model but it's 1985 or 86 - more likely 86.

All 87 Muddy Fox models had U-brakes, 88 went back to canti but your components are too old for it to be an 88 bike. So it's pre 87.

The Muddy Fox / Silver Fox thing came later I'm pretty sure, the 'MKII' version of the company after the original went bust.

if you bare with me I have been sent copies of all the Muddy fox catalogues from the 80's to mid 90's..I should be able to help!!

When I receive them I will be uploading them all anyway

Just checked the picture, Not sure on model but its definately early 80's, pre 87...looks a similiar frame design to my Courier around 84/85.
Especially the canit brakes - dia-comp I guess

Thanks for the input folks. :) Cheers Chally, that will be cool.

I pick it up on Friday, so should post some better snaps up over the weekend.

I still havent't told the bread knife that theres another bike going in the garage. Best put full Dainese kit on.

get some spiders for the garage and tell her you've spotted some - she won't go in - works for me with my cellar!
