Nice one , but IMO 26 miles is a bit much for somebody that young
It was at a pace he could cope with, and a speed he dictated with plenty of of water and rest stops. his normal runs are around the 10 mile mark which I think is about right for his age (10), this is a once a year thing really.
Incidentally after the marathon (and 30mins rest) he wanted to cycle home (another 3 miles) so we did, another hour rest and he ran off to the park to play on his bmx.

Looks like a great day out - well done to you both, nevermind 26 miles being to long for mini ken, how you feeling? 
Tis a great feeling out on the bike with your boy and he will remember these days for the rest of his life- I know I still do- ma dad on a womans shopping bike and me on my racer over the hills to Johnstone- best days of your life.
