RetroBIKE I Need Your Help ID'ing these bikes . . . .

I have joined this forum to get some help from you all, hopefully.

My Great Uncle died a couple of years ago and the family have sorted most of his estate, except his bikes. As a keen cyclist this job has come to me, unfortunately I don't have much knowledge of anything before 2000.

Hopefully you guys can help me Identify these bikes.

I know you have a how much thread, and I don't want to litter your board up but there is quite a few bits here.

Hopefully someone here can help, thanks in advance.

(I have loads more photos of the bikes, if its needed. There is also boxes & boxes of olds Campag, BSA, Brookes etc etc)

Prices for classic bikes such as these can run into the high hundreds and beyond .Parts value may also surprise you . Have a look on e bay for a guide .


If you already ride a bike, riding and enjoying these will top any other value .
 
Hell's teeth what a fabulous collection :). With a bit if googling they should be easy to identify. The Carlton is a Flyer Track with Cappella lugs for example.

Unless you are desperate for the cash, keep and cherish them :)

Hi, a lovely collection of vintage bikes, in excellent condition he had excellent taste.

1st is a Bates Cantiflex Frame Diadrant Fork from late 40's early 50's - very desirable.
2nd looks like a mid 50's Frejus - very nice
3rd is a mid / late 50's Carlton Flyer track iron - very nice
4th is a Hetchins Experto Crede mid 50's ? - very desirable.

Best I can do from this distance, just be careful, dealers will give you 50% or less of there actual value, Ebay will get you top dollar but some of the ebay users can be trouble. The parts will be worth quite a bit as well, just take care. Terry

Do you think I should complete the partially complete bikes, there are plenty of parts. Or will people be put off if i put the wrong parts on?

I would love to see you work out what you want for them and offer them here first. That way there will be a better chance they will be loved ridden and cared for rather than raped of parts and sold off a piece at a time.

I have put the Carlton on my watch list :). I hope you have put a suitably high reserve on the Bates :)
