So close ! Great looking wheelset BTW !

What did you do in terms of the 130 mm rear hub spacing?

This one is 135mm. I assume either cold set or special order.

Nice ! that 135 mm spacing makes things a little easier.

Totally. I have show wheelesets and riding wheelsets a like most people I think. I like having a few 7 and 8 speed wheelsets with NOS hubs and mavic 317s that I can trust on the trail. This bike will be set to 6 speed on the NOS woblers, but I'll use my good 7 speed riding wheelset with the shifters set to friction for the trail. Did the same on the Cameron ... A good piece of advice I took from a gent in here.

Frame and bits suppose to be back next week. Looking forward to seeing it all fresh.

Re:

It's back!

Too dark for full shots so here's a little teaser. Looks very nice.

Before ...

And here she is now. I want to get the Kestrel done first since it's so close. I'll put this thing together in an evening for a treat in the coming week or two.

Re:

are we voting? put me down for liking
the original look better. sorry but the uniqueness
of the granite finish was very appealing.
still it looks good and i'm sure will be a beauty when finished.
as is your other black and white one entered in BOTM.

You already voted

I do have a black and white thing ... Yo Eddy, blizzards, and my kestrel.

I'll make it up with the Goat. No black or white ... Promise :D

Looks sharp! Based off the catalogues it looks like you've transformed you're 89 Blizzard into an 88 model.
I was wondering why you always had 1988 in your title...now it makes sense. :)
BTW, that's a nice wheelset! Very cool that you found a NOS AT18.
Looking forward to seeing it all built up.

Basically that was the plan, although my understanding is that RM's model years weren't so defined by the calandar like most brands. This was the livery of the test mule in the early 1989 magazine tests.

I decided on this livery as soon as I went syncros stem ... I didn't like the look of the black stem with the granite. I still sort of wish I went white red fade, but I couldn't find a colour photo to work from.

Too bad they aren't AT20s, but they are super nice.

I also have a black and white Brodie Sovereign Roy ... Can u suggest a 12 step program?

Just gotta get K-rod to sell/trade me that BLT light set!

Re: 1988-1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Slope/Team

Thumbs up on the new paint, Jimi !

I have a bit of a penchant for black and white too, so was happy to see the granite vanish ;)

That is going to be one incredible blizzard !
