There are usually two ways for doing this:

- Long Exposure (around 2.5 hours for the first one and 5 for the second), high ISO (800ish) and open lens (f2.8 - f4...).

- I did it this way as it results in a less noisy image and I have more control over the final result: Many continuous shots of something like 30-300seconds with high ISO and open lens. First image is made of about 250 images of 30 sec (around 2.5 hours). After that, I use Startrails freeware to add them up (very easy and straight forward).

It is interesting to note that every star turns around the Polaris star that always marks the north, and is seen on the same angle as the latitude we are in. In my case latitude is 28º so I look north and up 28º and there it is...

But the best thing is to be up there (around 1850m), lie down, and enjoy the spectacle of a clear starry sky... :)

I do a bit of picture taking too.

A Contax G2 35mm, a Rolleiflex SLX II 6x6 Medium Format, a Fuji TX2 (aka Hasselblad XPan II) Panoramic and an Olympus Pen F 1/2 Frame.

taken with my phone, no skills, no eye for detail and definetly not what id call great pics but for some reason i just liked it/them. i have a few now in a photobucket account and may try a bit harder from now on to capter life as it buzzes past
