Sound Financial Advice...

As Jez holds the world market price of Konas in his hands - do we buy or do we sell???

:?: :?:

Here's my two-penneth:

Forget all the "made in Taiwan / USA / Canada / Flaky paint" technical arguments already!

My guage of the coolness of my 1st Kona (92 cindercone) was the mates I rode with - my peer group.

Terry rode a GT Karakoram
Graham rode an Alpinestars Al-mega (with Maguras - wow!)
Ralph rode a Pace rc100 (rich kid)

All the above bikes were trick in there own way but not one of them - not even the pace felt as "alive" as my middle-of-the-range Cindercone.
Everyone who rode it all agreed it was different somehow.

I reckon it's this slightly hard to define "alive" feeling which puts early steel Konas firmly in the cool section.

Hey!!!

What gives?

"Jezza in the classifieds"!!!

(Nice keyring by the way Jez - now proudly dangling from my keys, I have removed my Porsche tag (honest!))

Yeah my riding group from yesteryear was as follows: Always interesting to see how the peers shaped up...This was from 1990-1996. I have a good memory....

Stop trying to convince us, KONA ARE NOT COOL.

They’re mass produced bikes, no exclusivity.

Pro Flex were cool at the time, Kona’s were boring. Fair enough the ride wasn’t that boring and they had cool bits; Scott SE Brakes, Suntour MD groupie with grease ports and project\track two’s.

But Kona is not a cool brand.
