Excellent meet at Thetford today, many thanks to all those who made the effort to attend. Began well with myself, Jango & Drapoon starting the day as we meant to carry on by a visit to the cafe as it opened for pasties, sausage rolls & tea. The rest of the RB gang soon arrived and after a little faffing we headed for the red route. The fast wide start to the red route saw a few dodgy moments on sandy corners but soon the cracking singletrack began with the dry trails ensuring a fast pace from the out-set, Neil__J needs to be handicaped on these rides 'cos he is sooooo fast, the rest of us struggle to keep up, he taught me a few lessons riding in his tracks round the berms.
Another cafe stop for lunch in which cannondale king went for the full monty of pastie, ploughmans, crisps and cake washed down with a can of energy drink. Post lunch flatuance was rich and tuneful. Camelbaks and bottles refilled we headed off to do a medley of best bits of the black route with a least 3 rides of the Beast and a session at the now infamous Beakers Bombhole (Howes Pit), only a couple of spills but nothing serious. Crossing over to the Brandon side of the forest we were guided by Neil__J to the sweetest singletrack of the day, very fast and flowing, so good we rode it twice!
Everyone was completley knackered by this time so we headed back to the car park, our bikes attracted a few admiring comments from the riders packing their cars. Thanks all for a brilliant day.
