1996 GT Zaskar LE (12.5" XS)

Yep thats a 1998

Now I've never seen a 12.5" Zaskar in the flesh and there are not that many pics on the Net. The later Race / Moto 12.5" Taiwanese built Zaskars do indeed have a curved end. These however are 7k series tubing.

Now I would like clarification once and for all the following;

Did GT produce a 12.5" Zaskar in 1996 (albeit for sale in 1997)?
Did these American built 6061 tubing 12.5" frames have a flat end cap?

Without anyone being able to produce documentation to either Confirm or Deny that these frames actually exist I'm just going to lean more towards....

I don't bl**dy know ;)

Adding fuel to the fire, these 96 zaskars Le's do exist and I have one of them too which I got in June of 96. It was a nothing spared dream machine with Judy SL, Tioga Revolver cranks, Ringle stem, Velocity Deep V rims on White Industries & DT Hugi hubs, full XT and Onza HO brakes and Michelin green Wild grippers. I believe only 5 came in to the country and I got mine when I worked at Caratti in Bristol. I do remember Hans Rey having one too. I'm waiting to to do a full restore on the bike after I've completed the Bontrager race lite first. Pictures will follow shortly.
