GT Avalanche - my modern ride with a retro heart

With the wealth on 'new' bikes appearing on here, I thought I'd pass my 2007 Avalanche Expert through.

I'm trying for a retro look, yet maintaining the benefits associated with a new bike.

So, we have Avid Juicy 3 disc brakes, SRAM X-7 shifters, X-9 rear mech and new Deore LX front mech. Rock Shox Tora's up front have adjustable ride height and lock out.

Retro touches I have added so far are a 1998/99 Deore LX chainset, grey Flite, KORE stem, GT straight bar and NOS 1996 GT grips. Butterscotch tyres are thanks to MadCowKev.

Haven't quite decided where to go next with it, so any comments welcome.

Gday Pickle

Hard to say what to do it next.

Looks good the way it is..

Im in the same boat as you.

I have a 2006 Avalanche Pro. I cant bring myself to ride it as it doesnt have the same feel as a retro...

Even with putting retro bits on it I dont think I could enjoy it as much as one of me older GT's........

Thanks mate

Have to say though, its is a nice ride, and if I'm honest its more comfortable than my RTS and LTS. As a singletrack flyer, it is a storming bike
