'93 Zaskar LE

Russell

Old School Grand Master
Not quite finished the re-furb yet, but nearly there. Frame number indicates made in August '93, cantilever specific brake routing, ball burnished. Built up as a proper lightweight XC race machine. Owned by me from new in '94 :)

Rolls Ti railed Saddle, USE s/post, GT rigid forks (made by spinner).

Got to be a 'chill pill' for the back brake (M900 cantis).

Cook Bros CBRs with M900 taking care of the chain pulling.

M900 (again) taking care of the shifting and braking with USE bars. Front brake routed through an early Cannondale force 40 'snail' so no need for an ugly cable hanger and improved modulation.

Russell,

As soon as that Mavic 316 hits the doormat it'll be sent straight out to you! Have no fear. The Ritchey Logic is eagerly awaiting to get stuck into an Orange

Sweet as a nut Russ, looks really cool. Are they new decals? What did you run on there before? MAG 10s or something? Think I've a stash of Bike Tech stickers kicking around somewhere if you want full authenticity ;)

I hope the first ride will be over Lecky taking in the bombhole and rock step

It went through a few 'phases', I had some Mag 10s but blew them up after a couple of years so I fitted some Psylos but they pushed the front end up real high which pretty much consigned the bike to the back of the shed for Sally to ride when she wanted to join me.

Sally hasn't really been using it recently so I decided to strip it down and turn it into the bike that it should have been 12 years ago if I'd have had more money to spend. Strictly speaking it should have some Mag21 SL's on but I've already got a hardtail and the GT forks were kicking about anyway.

The decals are the originals, the Zaskar lettering on the top tube is pretty worn but the rest are ok. A Bike Tech sticker would finish it off nicely :) I'll pick one up at the Autumn meet if thats OK?

Lovely, maybe a syncros stem would finish it off nicely?
