2012 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR - with a slice of lime :)

Devout Dirtbag
I really do like old bikes but every now and then I need to buy something new and watch it grow old :p so last year I bought something - it is a 2012 Stumpjumper, according to their web page these are the specs:

2012 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR comp carbon
Frame: carbon front triange, alloy rear triange
Fork: Fox Evolution F140 RL, 140mm travel
Rear shock: Fox Triad II with AUTOSAG
Groupset: SRAM X7/X9
Pedals: Crank Bros. Candy 1
Brakes: Avid Elixir 7 SL
Wheels: Specialized hubs, DT spokes, Roval rims
Tyres: Specialized Purgatory/Ground Control
Stem/Bar: Specialized XC/All-mountain low rise, 720 mm
Grips: Lizard Skins Logo Lock-on
Post/Saddle: Specialized alloy/Henge Comp

By the way, it is NOT a 29er

And now some pictures:

Cheers

Re: 2012 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR comp carbon

Sorry, just realized that linking from Dropbox does not seem to work ... in a few minutes they should be visible.

EDIT - pix fixed

Re:

I've bought some parts for the Stumpy and its rider, unfortunately I couldn't mount the new pedals since I did not have the right wrench available ...

But at least I brought a little neon back

Real nice and those Stump Jumpers have changed a fair bit since i first saw one back in the 80's ;) ..

Lovely.

A mate of mine has just ditched his Enduro Evo for one of these. The Evo was a great bike but was overkill for general riding as it came in at 35 plus pounds. He's finding is Stumpy almost as capable on the downs but loads better along and up. It's also 29lbs now with some lighter wheels, dropper post and cranks.

They're such capable bikes that they're all most people really need.

Re:

Hi,

after not posting here for a while if discovered some to-dos for the Stumpy

 upgrade discs from 180/160 to 200/180
 new pedals, the Candies are trying to kill me
 cut down the bar to 70 or 68 cm
:p new tyres, Nobby Nics most likely but I'll wait for the 2015 model
 a dropper post maybe, if so the Command Post

Cheers

Mathias

done: new pedals, now with VP VX Trail Race
to do: cut down the bar to 70 or 68 cm or rather replace with Control Tech CLS
to do: Nobby Nics most likely, maybe tubeless conversion?
bought: a Fox D.O.S.S. - just need to mount it
