Alfa 147 2.0 Lusso

Anyone got any pearls of wisdom on these?

I'd be dropping a fair heap of torque over my A3 turbo but i've found a stunner with Momo leather and all the extras; in red, of course.

I do chuff all miles so not fussed on any practical issues and i'm aware of all the normal things when buying cars.

Any specific issues to the 147 to be aware of? I'd be keen to hear from an owner if there's one on here? :)

first of all, you are about to buy one off the most beautyfull compact cars around.
are you going for the flappy peddles selespeed ? Or the manual gear box ( which would be mine pick)
there are not that many problems with the 147 except some issues with the original front wheel arms ( do not know the English name for it) but these arms are easy to replace by improved once and not expensive.
I always would go for one with a service manual and low milage and if possible warranty.
Which model are you going for ? First or face lift ?

If you want to know more? Just ask, I know alot of these cars;)
I have a club and 2 sites about these freaking alfa's ;)

Kind regards

I thought i'd seen a picture of yours, a black one?

As i don't drive much it's hard to justify spending much on a new car, so it would probably be a pre-facelift and definitely with the 5sp manual gearbox. How hard is the cam-belt to change, is it easily accessed?

Shame, you are not in the UK, i guess you can't comment on servicing costs?

Here is one i'm going to look at:

Cam belt needs to be changed every 60.000 km, and I wouldn't do it myself if you haven't done it before.
here in the Netherlands it is gonna cost you about 250 euro complete with all parts just for the change.
The spark plugs need to be changed each 100.000 km and are expensive platinum once.

What is the milage of the red one ?

The red and black Momo looks great, I have it the other way around, black with red Momo.
radjatoe drives a 147 too, he has the selespeed

The red one is on 40k miles, but is from a specialist and comes with the cambelt changed.

The question on the belt was really on labour, if i bought one privately i would pay to get the belt changed myself; if it comes from a garage i will ask them to do it.

It will be interesting to drive one, my REVO tuned A3 turbo is a lot more powefull than the 2.0TS but i hope the looks and drive of the 147 is better :)

I guess the A3 was about 225 HP?
the 147 2.0 has a 150hp engine but if that is not enough i suggest you give Autodelta a call and ask for the remapped computer,...it still will not give you the same performance because you can not beat a turbo charged engine without cubic inches but i will give you some ;)
And otherwise go for the GTA (in white) ;)
