Been looking at these again (Gumtree has gone though). The Brick Lane one is a really nice modern'ish tourer but the Vintage Bike cave one is a bit of an enigma. I have a feeling that this might not be a Tierney build but he may have done the modification and had it resprayed. Looking at the way the lugs have been nicely filed I wonder if it could actually be a James Fothergill? If so then it's a bargain!
No luck with the first 2 mates I tried, they've been Liverpool cyclists since the early 50's and they didn't remember anything! L17 is the Aigburth area in the South of Liverpool. I've got a couple of more people to try now though. I'm intrigued!

An update on the Tierney, I acquired the frame from John and have started a restoration project.
Now in a nice bright colour scheme as you can see below.
I got in touch with Nick at H Lloyd regarding Tierney decals and he managed to source some NOS for me, nice man.
