Haha! I remember those!

You bolt them onto the rear of your HT, almost as you would your rear wheel [bolted into dropouts etc.], then attach your brakes, rear wheel, derailleur gubbins to this contraption..

Then you cycle down a hill real fast and it feels like you forgot to clamp up your QR properly :shock:
