Rossin Prestige Team build

Oh I'm sure as long as it's tasteful rather than pornography it will be fine....

There's a cheque winging it's way to you Richard with lot's of 0's - all zero's actually which is about what I can afford :)

Tel,

No sign of the cheque yet, maybe you forgot as you were drinking coffee with the new kettle.

Here is the link mentioned by Steven - as Kenny Everett would say, "It;s all done in the best possible taste!"

Still undecided about the paint - any assistance would be appreciated. I like the chrome on the brochure pics but i am not so sure about the colours.

Hm I see the dilemma...it's hard to know what to do if history is lost! My Ciocc most likely hard full panto Nuovo Record 3TTT stem, and panto ring/shifters.

Right now the panto stem is too new (80s) and I put Super Record on it. Still hunting panto parts, some people would have put on NR but I love the look of SR, so until I have full panto NR (like, never?) I'll stick with that.

I'd go for pearl metallic white, or red (as red bikes go faster) :D

You've seen my silver Ciocc, so depending on how you like silver that's an option too. I find silver is harder to finish in a way as it's silver group + silver stem +...lots of silver, but some people LOVE silver bikes and the silver is very subtle and colors with environmental light.

Bob Jackson painting seems a bit cheaper, £100 for most colours + decal costs BUT their shipping deal isn't valid for Norn Ire, so you need to sort courier.

http://www.homeofchrome.co.uk/ is a place that LFGSS recommended. Much cheaper if you post to chrome place yourself, though check shipping costs! As it means NI > Chromer > Bob > NI and don't know if chrome place can redirect for you.

http://www.parcel2go.com/ is your friend here.

Jawine,

Thanks for the pointers - i did consider a similar scheme to the original with chrome recently but i think the chrome might be 'lost' in the white. I had not considered silver for the Rossin - i will give that some thought (and silver might be a good colour for another one of my frames).

RE getting shipping etc done - i can work something out with friends in England to move it about should i need to.

Thanks for the pointers, it has given me more to think about!!

Richard

It's hard to lose chrome, you'd think silver + chrome you don't notice the chrome a lot...but the bling is there :)

Red/chrome stands out more I think but it's all up to taste, the team color suggestions are good too.

I personally would restore as bought if you are a 100% sure that's the way the bike was first finished. From reading this thread however the issue is that nobody knows for sure.

I have no history on my Ciocc there may have been a club badge where the two big paint damage scars on TT are, but nobody knows.

Hi,
This is my second post but I just want to say thank you all for the info about the Rossin. I got one 10 years ago from a friend of mine and now Im restoring it as I can. When I get the 5 messages I will post some pics of my yellow Rossin

Hi,

I would love to see pics. I am still deliberating about the colour scheme. My DA groupset is almost complete for the build. Just need a headset and that will be it complete (ish) - DA cable outers seem harder to locate that DA AX hoods!

Richard

In my opinion , this kind of bikes must have vivid colors like the 80´s or early 90´s...

One of these days I am going to choose the color for you Richard. Don't tempt me 'cause I will pick something awful.

Or better yet lets decide by committee:
