White Elephant

Oi enough with the thread hijacking, take your road bike memories over to roadbike chat.
Its White Elephants here, big white things, floppy ears and long noses.............errr no i mean what the threads originally about :roll:
 
Mine I am highly embarrassed to say is a Bigfoot e-stay.

I badgered the owner to sell me the frame, I then battled with crossed threads and part stripped bottom brackets. I eventually built it up into a nice shiny red machine with Pace RC35's, Shimano m900 XTR, Middleburn RS3 cranks and........ meh.

Something about it did not suit me, I rode it once around the block and once to the local woods and then hung it up to gather dust. :facepalm:

Fortunately my daughter loved it, so I gave it to her for her birthday and the first time we rode together she left me for dead... so it obviously wasn't the bike. :oops:

I had to double the original total budget (inc purchase price) to get it into working order, now it's too bloody precious to ride, I've probably only ridden it 10miles.
