Is this a disaster or is there a legit lacing pattern out there, or scrap the rim and get a 32H...??

You would lose 2 hub holes on each side.
I have done nearly symetrical ones in the past, 24 on a 36, and 32 on a 48.
Some of you will know I built 1000's of wheels in the 1960s.
