I bought these pedals about 3 or 4 years ago for a hybrid bike I won in a prize draw. The plan was the hybrid would get me back into cycling after a 25 year break away from it. Sadly I hated that bike and managed to cycle it a total distance of 30 miles in the 3 years I owned it. I gave the hybrid to my son-in-law in January and his preference was for platform pedals so I took the PD-M970s off and stuck them in a drawer. I bought a single speed bike last week and decided to try out these pedals on it and they have now travelled another 25 or so miles, so the total mileage now stands at around 55 miles. The problem I have is the cleat position is too far back for for me and it causes my shoe toes to come into contact with the front mudguard so I have decided to stick an old set of SPL-SL pedals on the single speed and use them for a little more clearance.
The pedals have never been out in the rain, never been in mud or dirt and are almost unmarked bar for a couple of scratches from clipping in. (see pics)
