Deflated: A comedy of errors..

Oh another TOP TIP from me!!! Totally forgot about this one!

Modern bikes have mainly Black rims - Black tyres - Black inner tubes!

The inside of the rims are mainly black too! Bare with me and read:

The next time you have an hour to yourself find a roll of masking tape
which is wider than the 'rim tape', enough to fit inside the rim so it is really
close to the edge of the inner rim, then Fit the tyre/tube as normal, with the
masking tape in place it will provide a highlighted section between the rim tube & tyre,
if the inner tube is trapped between the rim/tyre you will be able to see it more clearly
because of the white/cream tape, hopefully you'll never trap a tube.

Ian,

Have you a pic as you have me very confused with this one. My head now hurts.

OK, I will just buy the clear super light tubes to avoid whatever problem this avoids!! They are only £45 each!!!! You need any? LOL

+1 for the VAR tool. Not widely available, I got mine from Spa. MTBers don't know how lucky they are - can get them off and on with bare hands only. My road Conties are real tight buggers. Still, better than clinchers of old that unseated emselves and blew off when they got hot under hard braking.
