1989 Orange Clockwork yellow/white. Update 26/11/2014.

Re: Another 1989 Orange Clockwork yellow/white. Project begi

Edd that's so so

How about a challenging build  ......

I've not seen a clockwork XC Pro on here? Or Campag.....(bit worried i'll be completely grey by the time it's done though)

Had thought about a Suntour build but I'd prefer to that on a 92/3. Campag is far too silly expensive for me!! This will be a slow burner and will probably change about a bit so we'll see. :D

Yep, got as far as the Leeds depot last time before they lost it  Really need to finish that first post!

Re: Another 1989 Orange Clockwork yellow/white. Project begi

Bit of an update as I finally got round to giving it a clean today. It's got a bit of patina and gravel rash but I'd say far better then average. I like how the orange decals sit on the yellow paint as they are usually lost on an orange bike. Seat post will be going as it's the wrong size
I'm thinking of doing a silver build on either this or the Prestige and black on the other. Not sure which yet as I prefer black but the silver kit I've got is in better condition :?

Re: Another 1989 Orange Clockwork yellow/white. Project begi

Looking at the frame geometry and angles it should make for an interesting ride (Check out the seat tube!). Strange to think how quickly geometry was evolving back then as my 1991 Prestige is miles different to this.

Here's a few of the parts I've collected so far. I'm thinking Deore as it's a 1989 frame although since it's late 89 it could get away with DX I guess. I'd prefer Deore but the DX I've got in stock is mint. Hmmmmm :?

I got a Syncros stem for it but when it turned up it was 1 1/8th instead of the stated 1". Think I'll use the Orange Stalk from the Prestige for now and get a high end replacement for the Prezzer. We'll see. :xmas-big-grin:
