GT XCR idrive thread - owners bikes and tech support

Hi, new to site , ive got an XCR 2000, got it second hand, ive done a bit to it, now got idrive prob, ill throw pics up of prob, got to get complete bearing kit, bushes for fox float and dog bone, was a bit daunting at first to take repairs on myself, but looked at photos on here and the pdf , so went and did it, thought it may be a bit of a jack in the box job , but went smoothly , the bearing cups are seized to the idrive barrel so im working on getting them off without damage, ive only found 1 place where they sell bearing and bush kits, does anyone of anywhere I can get them ? ok catch yo later Steve

Cheers for that, , is the kit from betd a complete one, ? I have problems for some reason with paypal so the US ones would be hard for me to get, ive got some maintenance to do on barrel and chamber on frame, the photos tell all !! anyway, ive got time now, I bought a s/h GT Timberland to get around on, 2001 model, only done about 500m according to owner, hes had it from new, got all the reciepts manuals and that, anyway, back to XCR, got to rebush the fox float, I think the pivot is ok, I had the casette, chain and bb renewed , one of bb lock nuts got damaged taking crankarm off, so may have to get a new bb now, as well as this im doing some work on a rockhopper, nice bike that , anyway any advice and im all ears ! or eyes !! Right I am going to undertake a restoration of my brothers xcr4000 which will involve possibly stripping the idrive. I may alsoget the frame stripped and coated in which case it will have to come out

Its not hard to do, also i am now thinking of having paint removed from frame there is a paint removal specialist in Preston, top job no damage to frame regardless of which metal is used to build it , i had my land rover aluminium panels done, no probs at all
Looked like new ,

HI, I contavted paint removal, will cast £35 to have pint removed and powder coated several good colours and some with fleck,
google ribbletechnology , if you have them couriered obv will be more, depends how far away frpm Preston you live ok mate hope this helps seeya Steve

Hi everybody, I am about to buy my unicorn : a GT STS XCR 2000, size L !

But I am a little bit suspicious about this disc caliper position, don't you ?

:?: :?: :?:

I would be very concerned as they never came with a disc mount on this frame

I would be worried about what damage welding the disc tab onto the rear end has caused

(There is a genuine rear end on eBay for one of these atm £35 and I can help with shipping to u )
