Such a tidy workplace! I can never find bits!

you should see the rest of the garage, S**t everywhere!

It's all packed up in boxes at the mo, ready to start cleaning the bits.

Choices choices.....where to begin...

Re: Major Winter Overhaul Multi-Project

You can see the floor/worktop. Therefore you still have space for more builds!

The likelyhood of retaining my manhood is inversely proportionate to the number of builds hence the overhaul/re-build & clearout afterwards

Re: Major Winter Overhaul Multi-Project

The last strip down is now complete....

I now have no ridable bikes.... :?

Re: Major Winter Overhaul Multi-Project

Hooray there has now been some construction rather than destruction!

Decided to start with the Cinder Cone, mainly cos the frame was in the work stand!

Decided to fit the Marzocchi Bomber Z1's to this in place of the Judy sl's previously fitted. Main reason being this will be the permanent hardtail and it is more the mucking about / less serious long XC haul type bike. and I think they would look silly on the Kilauea's without riser bars!

First Job was to give the Z1's a quick once over... Crown looked a bit dull

So after a quick polish...

Also gave the Stem a quick rub up and fitted some Blue Ti Bolts and fitted it all to the frame...

Also chucked the seatpost & saddle straight back on.

Looks kinda purposeful already :D :D

Re: Major Winter Overhaul Multi-Project

I've now added the other bits, here's a pic of the chainset

I've had some difficulty setting the front dérailleur up such that the cage doesn't rub on the chain in at least 1 gear, which surprised me a bit as it's pretty much a complete XT 737/739 system. I'm wondering if the BB axle is too long at 113mm.

Anyone know what BB's were fitted to Konas equipped with a M737 Chainset?

Re: Major Winter Overhaul Multi-Project

Nice quest you have on your hands there.

M737 has same chainline as M900 IIRC so i'd go for 107mm.

Hmmm 107 sounds a bit on the short side, not sure I have 3mm of clearance both sides now, I was thinking more 109/110mm?
