Highpath Hi-Lite off-road bicycle for sale

Unlocked at the request of the OP. If it turns into a bun fihgt will lock again regardless.

If the seller wants £4.5K for his bike that is very much his perogative.

Make mine a Belgian bun

Who said anything about spokes, hubs etc??

Apologies but presentation is everything, if this had had some time spent on it, the asking price wouldnt have been seen as a tea on the monitor moment.

I personally would not be happy with a £30 powder coat by some garden gate powder coat bob a job specialist,A bike like this needs to be sent to proper bike restorer/paint sprayers and the frame(just the frame the rest is easy stuff)lovingly repainted,as in my opinion the frame does need it,looking at the close up pictures,I personally would not be happy with a quick Tcut an polish no matter wether the bike cost £5 or £5000,unfortunately I carnt spray frames to the standard of Mercian,Argos,Jonrock so I would much prefer to pay them good money to know its a propa job that will last the next 30years.

Pm sent with a real offer.

PMSL..........Who said anything about a garden gate powdercoater....

I was talking about a Specialist powdercoater, and yes it would be flawless and last 30 years, if you get stuck i can send you examples of work on collectable bicycle frames if you wish.

And to be frank there is NOTHING in those pictures that would give any cause for concern at all. Take it from someone who knows.

As for a single colour paintjob as you have mentioned above, the figure i quoted in my previous post was Argos et al. And yes again i can forward examples.

You sure you arent simply trying to justify a Cheeky offer, Because thats sadly how it seems to me.

Whilst the bike could be restored it could also be used for what it was designed for, riding off-road. A wipe over with a rag soaked in Waxoyl should stabilise any rust and once fully dry, will buff up reasonably well. Alternatively wirewool the rust and respray the local area with a rust resistant black paint. The was the preferred method of David Wrath-Sharman who disliked powder coating because it made frames difficult to modify or repair.

This is a proper bitch fest !

Scrapping online about powder coating and T cut, this is what Tim Berners-Lee invented the internet for !

I'm sure there's a reply coming soon...
