This is a bit of a brain fart, so excuse me, but is there a cycling museum anywhere in the UK? I mean somewhere that contains old victorian bikes/inventions right through to the mountain bikes we are rebuilding?

If not, wouldnt it be great to have somewhere you could go to see these machines and even better, a little test track to ride them around.

See, told ya it was a brain fart.

Snowshill Manor in the Cotswolds has a collection of really old Penny Farthing and Hobby Horse machines. It's not a bike museum by any stretch, but it would be a nice ride out there and the house itself is really interesting, full of weird collections.

thanks guys but that doesnt stop the brain fart - - what we need is a cycle mueseum for retrobikers. something with a little test track loop where you can try the slingshot the bowTi and the amp, see how they feel then return them. Or is that just the national retrobike meet? ha.

Drumlanrig has a (albeit small) cycle museum and some rather nice trails.

Went to the one in Llandrindod Wells this year . Good collection of bikes and insight into history . Some crazy inventions in the early days . Only a few mtbs though . And sadly for you , no test track :( looking at some of the bikes though , that's not a bad thing .
