Evening all ,
Saw this on ebay , and couldn't resist , especially at the price .
Reckoning on a nice racey look for this ol' gal .
Project Paola begins !
Started by washing her , then stripping down to frame . Tcut the frame to establish what condition the paint was in . Decided to touch up paint chips with model paint . Not exactly professional I know , but just wanted to hide the worst of the damage .
Next stage will be the forks . . .

Chair is pulling up :D geometry looks great for a nice xc race bike.
Cheers paul

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

Hi Bart ,
Chips are thankfully in the black and red parts of the frame mainly . Top tube and back end being the worse areas . Hardly retro or top end  but I like the look of it regardless . Will make a nice flat out blast bike I think mate

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

good work mike, all you need to do is sell that old scott and trek and build this one up :)

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

  Cheers Dan ,
The Scott is staying , the Trek :? not so sure . Flat 'bars for me , as an ex-racer .
Fcukin' peasant , what were you thinking boy ?

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

Hmm a bike named Paolo and you appear to have wood in the picture , some kind of message there Mike ;)
Cheers Paul.

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

Hi folks ,
Quick progress report on 'Paola' ,
Got some red Sachs Waveys for her and an XT chainset too . Trying to polish cranks up but reckon the spider aint moving , unless any of you know any different ?
Got another seat post coming , as the one it came with is far too laid back . Anyone interested in it ? It's a 31.6 unbranded item .
Got some STX-RC V-Brakes and Ritchey pads that came off Scott build , and am now looking for some red SPDs , which will look good I reckon . Also got some black/red Fisher grips coming , as the Sachs ones on her are far too thin for someone who doesn't weild a pneumatic drill for a living  They're just there to avoid any more chips on top tube .
Mike

Re: Gary Fisher Kaitai

Cheers Paul ,
It is psychological though , you can't see from the photo that the back wheel is off the ground by a good 4"
