un known bike

Retro Newbie
a friend of mine suggested I join this site to try and find out some info on my bike which I think is a tv series after seeing a couple of frames on ebay any ideas would be great

No idea myself, but it is pretty disctinctive with the square/round tubing and the bracing between seat tube and top tube, looks interesting :)
 
I bought the frame years ago about 2001 It was in the local bike shop for years and they sold it cheep I've only recently built it back up I've only ever seen a coupe of others but that was a while ago
 
Definitely interesting . That square tube has thrown me, defo looks like 2000's era style with box stays and gussets all around. Reminds me of the 'free ride' frames that Merlin sold briefly around 2003. Wish I'd bought one looked great and bargains too.
 
It wasn't a cheep frame they sold a few 50 quid frames the same as the Merlin ones I had one for years this one came with a red anodized dropout and has btv stamped on it I think its a special edition team frame
 
I'm dam certain i've seen that type of frame before now i think it was RidgeBack that did a similar frame in the late 80's lol although the brand that comes to mind atm is Claud Butler ..
