Do you guys know whether a XT M737 8 spd cassette will work ok with an M900 chainset and dérailleurs?

Sure does! The CS-M737 and CS-M900 are more or less identical. I have the CS-M737 on one of my XTR900 builds and a CS-M950 on another XTR900 built (lighter)

It's the hub the hyperdrive-c can have issues with. A 1mm spacer solves that though.
