Ah, forgot all about this.

I've edited my link above. Looks just like Rupe's 1988 tufftrax, which has canti front.

Paint looks original (still don't have it in my possession to look better...) so maybe it was a special/limited edition leftover. Or Muppetman could well be right.

It's an 88-89 limited edition. Its the original finish. Essentially a rebadged 1988 tufftrax in black. Another one of Saracens end of season jobs.
So totally class then! Ha

I think you have an 88 limited edition

BITD a mate had one , had Exage mountain with SIS LH shifter ,the chainset should be biopace SIS which only this groupset had I think , steel rings I have some in my spares I think. It was a good spec bike back then had wolber rims and tyres too
