EDIT. When does it become retro??

Re: How new is retro??

Pretty simple answer for this site at least.

1998 onwards non retro. Kind of like the forum area you posted in right now..

No offence but my 98 Lts I would class as retro

Also pre disc brakes I bein younger could be classed as old skool / retro

And there you go, to you you would class it as Retro. Some other may as well... Some may not...

Discs have been around since the early 90's... Quite a lot earlier than that if you're being picky.

To OP.
It is not 'retro' retro as defined by the split on this site. But newer retro as it's not a modern bike... Which you'll need to define somehow too.

That is if you define retro as an old bike that is quite nice.

Of course if you define Vintage as 'before I was born', Classic as 'when I was a small boy', Retro as 'In me teens and road them to death' and everything after 'moved away from home, gave up riding' as modern. You'll get different boundaries ;-)

My 2010 stumpy will became Retro one day, I do feel the dates should change soon otherwise call this site 90's and 80's bike site....

We could do with some more well done 80 bikes.

Certainly anything after the millenium bug should be melted

Some of the pre 98 bikes should be sent to the scrapers as there all full of rust

But it's each to there own some like old some like new

I jus like what I like doesn't matter if old or new
