I shall keep it intact then, I have sprayed some WD in it and hopefully it will seep in overnight

This morning I sprayed the freewheel with WD40 and the slight dry sound has almost gone, and a nice little clicking is coming from it

Pretty sure with a few more applications all will be perfect.

Typical me not following instructions :facepalm:

Remember WD40 is not really a lubricant (the WD stands for Water Dispersant) and you need to stick some oil in as well

WD40 until silent. Then very thin oil. Keep it silent!

I did recommend you, before using it, to use GT85 drizzled in around the mating edges of the moving parts front and back because it had never been used meaning the oil had probably thickened over the years.
