Is that stem fillet brazed?

Lovely looking bike. Would love to find some WTB multi mounts but will just have to settle for something else I think!
It is indeed. I was feeling pretty lucky with the wtb/king and I already had a set of multi-mounts, so what I really needed was a high rise salsa stem

But finding a fillet brazed custom P7 salsa stem with roller.... I was pretty over the moon at that point

So I started assembling the front end

But the stack height of the wtb/king was gonna be a problem with the bontrager steerer that came with the bike

Fortunately I keep a spare Bontrager dealer fork tool kit around

hi
i've seen this on Flickr too i think

i can't believe you got that headset from a swap meet. amazing.

i've gone for a Mavic one for mine, but the RS1s i'd sourced have got a massively long steer BUT not enough threads.

typical.

and that dealer kit - nice! there's not a spare pair of legs in there is there?

Have been a fan of Salsas Jelly Bean paint since I saw one at Bicycle Habitat in Manhattan. Digging the off color.

Are they sugino cranks - the ones with 4 arms an the 5th bolt into the crank arm?
Fortunately I had a set of rings on a set of bullseye cranks to replace the single speed set up that came on the bike. The sunset makes the black wash out

Sorry for all the red clay, I'd just finished riding the trails in Nevada city when I took this

And a tasty perforated white flite on a suntour post

On the Litton loop in grass valley

Some extra detail shots. 3 rolls of cloth tape(I hate it when it ends short), with short sections of thorn proof inner tubes underneath for extra cushion without adding too much thickness

Of all the frame details(ritchey dropouts, triangle gusset, dt cable routing, etc) the seat cluster is my favorite, this particular one was only done for a very short run. Scalloped reinforcement , cut for the quick release cam, and a braze on for the brake
