Wheels manufacturing do not make cone compatible with the 7400 series hubs.

Because loosescrews as posted above are selling wheels manufacturing cones.

Ok, still not 100% about your point - but presume you are talking about the fact that these cones are "compatible" as opposed to genuine Shimano items?

Ifso, had already spotted this thanks, and remain on the hunt for some genuine Shimano bearing cones!

did you hear back from Canada ? Before I was able to locate the genuine spares i wondered about getting my old cones lathed down (less than 1/4 of a mm needed ) to remove the pitting , I know the surface would be damn hard but was not sure about the underlying metal as they would be hardened some way http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_treating cheers Ian

No, not yet. I did get an email read receipt last week so he did get/read it. Had figured that he might be checking whether he's actually got any... he's defo on my hit list to chase shortly if I don't hear anything!
