The sides of my Michelin world tour tyres are covered in oil and grime, annoying the ocd within me! What have people found to be the best way of cleaning this?

If you are into NDT Dye Penetrant techniques then the cleaner part of this is great I have Chemtell's S-72 CLEANER :)

As long as the rubber is good and not beginning to break up, a good cotton towel and WD40 will bring them up like new. You'll need to clean the WD40 off the rims when you've finished though :)

Cheers guys! I tried before with a kitchen sponge and swarfega, it almost worked but didnt get everything. I think ill try a couple of these out!

Try to clean it with high pressure water cleaner, which can be found at the petrol stations.

Be careful when you do this with older tubulars. I did it once (with a pretty strong cleaner, i have to admit) and it also removed a lot of old dryed out rubber from the thread! Tubular was in a bad condition anyway, so no big problem, but keep it in mind ;)
