i just got a GT Legacy Fitness series, looking for info

well looks like its 700c wheels, mmm would 26 inch be ok? i was gonna rebuild it for the missus, but she dont like nothing bigger than 26inch wheels, might clean the crappy paint off it and sell frame, it will need a proper repaint thou, just dunno what it will be worth, ill have to think about it, see what parts i have

Brake bosses will be in the wrong place for 26" wheels I would think.

Interesting project if you do go ahead. Is it not quite large for your Mrs?
 
this is her current bike, so no, she dont like girly bikes

Shame you need a hanger, that'll be a tenner.

Dont really understand why someone would paint over a red frame in red?!

Strip the paint and polish it up, should come up a treat.
 
yer was thinking of that just stripping and polishing it up, but there is areas i have found under the resprayed red paint that show the paintwork under it was scratched and chipped in places, so would assume they did it to cover up alot of chips and damage, but why they didnt actually prep and paint it properly i dunno, i saved it from going to the tip i know that much, its 6061 alloy frame, and yer rear mech hanger might be an issue, just sorting through parts i have lying around but no rear mech hanger that will fit, my local shop charges £20 for a rear mech thou, might start a new thread with its rebuild
 
o well, missus said no, she is happy with what she has, so i will sell the frame for someone else to rebuild, i did start on it earlier with the brillo pads, got down to the frame on top bar
