Tyre Shaving Help

This tire is to wide at 2.4" and it was rubbing on the front derailleur went on the granny gear so I took my 4.5" grinder with a "Flapper" wheel (sand paper disc) and the problem was solve in a hurry.

Those stylish American 650b randonneur types are doing this to save weight and make their tyres more supple.
They use some combination of cutting and sanding. Looks like a huge faff to me :shock:

No this is the one I mean i.e. tyre ground down to the rim. :LOL:
