Just come back from 2 weeks in France and got in a few rides while over there again, despite being badly let down for the second year by my Modern Kona Kula (last year was sprockets, this year the oil seals failed in my forks on day 1). I really enjoy this place and the guy on site who runs the bike shed also runs 2 serious weekly rides, one a technical and the other a long distance XC, both though are what I would term proper old skool XC rides and ridable on a retro MTB and about 20miles long, they take about 2.5hours and it's a good workout. I heard rumors of a youtube vid of the technical ride which I just found. It's not a bad vid and worth a watch. Comes highly recommended for families, we're going back again next year and this time I will take a retrobike again. The treat for this year was a guy riding a HSW Popcorn Blizzard with SID's and M739 XT kit putting guys on modern FS bikes to shame.
The place is http://en.camping-la-garangeoire.com/ and the ride video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SKOn4He8zQ

Link un-barried now  . It's not on the site but mostly around Lac Du Jaunay which is about 5k away the rest is on the local crucimons which are a bit like our green lanes that crisscross the area but the area is nice and the site blends well with the overall area.
