Preferrably 7 speed but 8 is fine too, well made and sound. Conservative. As solid a rim as possible, and I'd rather have 36 spokes if that's OK.
Failing that, if someone near Derby wants to build me a pair, I could go for that. I have a pair of new rims but no longer have access to a shed or tools to build them.
