NE&YORKS Noggin and Natter

Not riding this weekend, probably will be the weekend after though.
Personally I'm aiming for Hovingham/Slingsby or Wetwang/Fridaythorpe way.
That depends on the weather though.

Any plans yet for the NE/ Yorks national ride at the end of July/

Yep its all in hand.... I've been out on a few reccie's and the main ride is sorted,
just the Saturday bimble with some lunch to sort out.

I'm hoping to get over to sort the camp site this weekend... but that's looking like it won't happen till next week,
unless I can convince a few friends to ride in the area on Sunday ;)

Ah good. Any chance of giving the area/location we'll be staying as I've completely forgotten and weekend plan.
I'll be there and camping all weekend for this one so need to plan a bit ahead.
I think this is the first weekend of the kids summer holidays...

Will let you know details later next week, I've just got to confirm the camp site (its just a tap+toilet)
but with a pub next door.... ;)

Had a fantastic ride this weekend but 5000 feet of climbing was hard work, the final decent was allegedly 3 miles long......

Great pics Vern, is that High Cup on Mickle Fell near Appleby?

5000ft of climbing  How many miles was the ride?

Yes its High Cup Nick, somewhere I've wanted to tick off my bucket list for a while,
The ride was 38 miles long with the return via Cross Fell, stunning days riding though.

Looks like one of places you have to see with your own eyes, truly stunning.

Is there a chair lift?

 ;)
