Just had a scammer on the phone

I've just had one of those calls from 'Microsoft' about my PC.

Only thing is, I don't own a PC, so as soon as the Asian gentleman on the other end realised his error, he started talking about my Mac. At this point I told him to get lost.

What I want to know is, where do these buggers get their database from? As he has rung my home number and got my name?

Needless to say, 1471 produced no phone number. :evil:

I love those calls...
I keep em dangling on the phone for long as possible (to the point of making them wait while I pretend to boot up the PC), annoy the bits off em and then tell em what I think of them

I tell them to hold on, because there's somebody at the door, and put the phone down on the desk, they're never there when I check back half an hour later.

Last time I had one I immediately asked, "Really, I have a software problem on my PC? How do I fix this? Can I give you my bank details, would that help?"

My hubby does the same thing, my son, on the other hand, spent half an hour with one arguing how much he loved his viruses and wanted to keep them :roll:

I had one telling me that I was in danger of losing my PC. I tried telling him that I had a desk top and that I couldn't loose it as it would always be under my desk where I left it. The discussion went on in a similar way for some minutes.

I asked another whether all the viruses I had on my PC could be down to the amount of gay porn that I download, then I told him that his voice sounded familiar and asked whether that was how he he earned extra cash. He didn't sound overly impressed
