Hi Im having trouble setting up my HS33 brakes again...

Its the rear ones on my Specialized Stumpjumper.

It seems that they sit oddly. one side is further in than the other and I cant move the other side in anymore, even though I need to.

I'm thinking it is possibly a wheel problem as I have a disc hub on the back

Heres some pictures.

Thanks

Thanks

You need to take a small spanner (10mm? not sure) and adjust the little elbow that sits against the frame.

Could you swap the "brackets" that hold the slave cylinders over? ie put the left one on the right, and right one on the left, that will move the slave cylinders toward the rim more.
Obviously keep the quick release on the right hand side still.

You could also take the tyre off the wheel and measure the gap from the rim to the chainstay on each side, or even just judge it by eye... it may be that your wheel is dished too much/too little in either direction.

Brilliant, can't believe I hadn't noticed that before.

Will swap brackets round tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.

Sometimes it just takes a fresh set of eyes to sort things out.

Looking at it now, I will definitely swap the brackets tomorrow.

It confused me more because my front ones use evo2 mounts and they are made central.

Yes thanks for the help everyone.

Just swapped the brackets around & my brakes actually work now.

phew! I might be picking up some Magura's soon too, so will have fun fitting them as well
