Hi folks,
Thinking of putting a road stem (plenty in loft , negative rise ) with a 1" quill , into a 1 1/8" threaded steerer on my mtb . Has anyone out there tried this , and can recommend a suitable shim ? :?
Any advice appreciated , Mike
 
You can use the shim on a converterset for a quill headset to a A-head. Something like this.

I use this on my singlespeed and it works fine.

Thanks Will and Stevo , but I was looking at using a quill road stem - of which I have a selection - rather than an a-head which is far too modern :LOL:
