Which flashing front light please?

I have just risked five guineas on the aforementioned perambulator illuminator.

My C1992 cateye halogen double C cell house brick will light my way if required.

Will report back.

At that price, what have you got to lose?........I too feel the need to reciprocate to car drivers. It can seem a one sided argument sometimes, but most of us wear both proverbial hats, do we not?....cyclists often find it funny to try and bring cars to a halt with bright lights on a dark lane. Having been on the receiving end of 8 trillion lumens in a dark, rural road, and stopping because I just couldn't see anything, I can say its just not safe to go too mad.......flashing lights all the way whilst embroiled in rush hour traffic though!

And will do the job great, no doubt........like I say, at that price what's to worry about.......some of the local field mice around here have learned to use factor 50 around here on a Thursday night though!.......

Got one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/High-Power-5w ... 20d6b81605
Great light/torch/flasher. Take AAA (buy them by the ton in Poundland).

I found the flashing mode on those to be much dimmer than the contant mode.

If you want a small 'be seen' front flashing light then as you said they seem to be hard to buy on their own.

This set of front and rear 1/2 watt blinky's is good value though:

I've got similar 1/2 watt front and rears that i've bought over the years and they are good and bright in terms of being seen.

This is for twilight and beyond on unlit country lanes and B roads.

This kind of contradicts your original requirement and implies that maybe you want a light to see where you going?

If thats the case then this is a good value set:

Near enough the same rear light as the other two ebay links but with a proper front light that also has a flashing mode. Direct from china sets aside I think for £24 its hard to beat. The front light is pretty bright, alot brighter than those cheapo coloured bezel chinese things (which are not 270 lumens as advertised, more like 50).

As I said earlier/above have a constant beam old school halogen cateye for seeing. This is to be seen.
