Yeah of course there's additional handling - but that happens anyway. Wee bin lorries collect your crap from your bin and take it to a transfer station where it is loaded onto F-Off bin lorries and transported along already busy roads to landfill or another transfer station, port or power plant. The same holds for food distribution and many other goods.
The plan is simply to get big stuff off the roads. Alternatively we could employ engineers (navvies) to widen motorway networks across the land. Don't believe all you write in newspapers
