Got a puncture in the car. Wanted it sorting today (Sunday) so thought I'd pop it down to my local Kwiki Fit. Would normally go to a more specialist outfit but I've used the local kwik fit for bits and pieces before, they've been fine.

Not so.

Just pulled the wheel out the boot to refit to find 4 big chips out the alloy. Incompetent fools. Will be on the phone to the stupid w@nkers first thing in the morning, in the meantime thanks for listening

Tw4ts

If anyone did that to any of my alloys I would have to get physical with them :x Nice of them to let you know, hey!

Shout very loud, and make sure you get some ££'s outa them ;)

Mrs GT wasnt happy with the valet the dealer did on her new Subaru, and when she spoke very load in the dealership, the Manager offered her £150 as "compensation"!

Had the same problem myself a few years ago, I took my then beloved RS2000 in to have the tracking done, Now i expressly told them that due to the car being lowered it wouldn't go on there normal ramp and they would have to put it on the one sunk in the floor. 20 minutes later dipshit tyre fitter comes in and says all done but did i know the exhaust was blowing. Now i know for a fact it wasn't so out i went onto the workshop to see my car and low and behold it was on the wrong ramp, I told him he did it, He denied it, So when the manager came out i asked the dipshit fitter to take my car off the ramp whilst the manager was watching and surprise surprise it did even more damage to it.

Good result in the end as they had to fit a nice shiny new sport cat as they had broken the mounting brackets off it.

Unfortunately, it's not just kwik sh1t. Seems that unless you stand over them they just don't care!! These places employ chimps

I had 4 new tyres fitted 2 weeks ago, at a local, trusted center and was surprised a day later whilst driving at 70mph to find the steering wheel wobbled so much it nearly came out of my hands  I phoned the idiots and told them and they said come back and have the balancing done again. I was there within 5 mins, gave the car back and took a seat.
5 mins later they called me back and said that they didn't have the right cone to do up the wheels on the machine, and demonstrated it not fitting.
So these chimps had balanced them whilst wobbling
I then had to take the car to another center, who had the right tool, and stood right next to the car, this guy balanced it right but managed to scratch 1 of the front wheels, IDIOT, i was stood right there
They are now having to have my wheel refurbed.

Next time i need new tyres, i'm going to ask for the top man to do the job, and not 1 of the 17 year olds. Also might be worth taking a picture of all 4 wheels before and letting them know this ;)

glad I have a kanckered old car I don't really care about cosmetically - would be hacked off if something happened safety-wise though

Not sure it's a case of caring or not caring about cosmetics - it's just incompetence  An £18 job will probably cost me close on a ton to put right thanks to a YTS idiot

Yeah, agreed even good places can be sh*t. Used to take mine to somewhere locally that was supposedly good. Last time I took it there they did 4WA and the steering wheel was about 10 degrees off. Took it back a few weeks later due to xmas /new year / being in the far east. They charged me to put it right - only took cash which went in the managers pocket. Idiots - I'd had three sets of good tyres from them over the years - haven't been back since

No intention of doing so. Will start with the local manager and go up from there until I have satisfaction

John, not much use now but there was a really good tyre place on one of the side streets off Coten End - Cherry Street maybe?

Was a long time ago now so they may have long disappeared but worth checking...
