My first half decent bike, came into my possession in October 1994:
A steel framed Raleigh Gritstone. Bought for £223 from my LBS, about £100 more than anything that had gone before
I've done a huge mileage on this bike and its still in fantastic nick.
It was laid up until last year. Since then I've treated it to some new shifters (return spring went in one), chain, cassette, wheel bearings and, last week, a specialized BG saddle (not pictured).
Can't imagine being without it and it still rides really well
