Hi all,

Have been pondering whether to make one of my retro rigid MTBs into a hardtail with the addition of a retro suspension fork. Just curious what fork people would recommend for a 96 frame. Pace and Amp both look awesome - I used to have Q21R and they were a bit flexy for my taste. I'd also like to add a modern front disc if possible.

Truth is, compared to a decent modern fork, they are all absolute and complete rubbish.

grab a 2002 onward SID if you're not fat, or Fox F80 if you are. You'll never look back.

96 ish era, agree Judy perform well. but need steel springs not elastomer, and ensure the cartridge is not leaking. i run them on my '95 and am very happy with how they go for all sorts of quite rough singeltrack and fireroad where i ride
