ti on ti creak

Hi,

I know the creaking BB grease/no grease thing has been covered many times, so sorry.

So I changed BB from a cro-mo RaceFace (on RF Turbines) to the ti version and I'm creaking. All installed with finish line grease to stop galling.

Under drive pressure I'm creaking, but standing on the cranks then rotating 180 I don't get a creak.

BB threads were cleaned and all at a nice level of torque.

Any thoughts as what to try?

(Frame is a Litespeed Obed)

I'm sure it's BB as the creak came like a free gift with the BB.

Nothing else changed.

Higher viscosity grease on the BB shell - BB interface,and inside the cups if they are the removable type?

Light grease on the tapers......of course ;-)

That's about all I can think of.....except have a good look for any cracks in the frame around the BB shell.

I will try that, makes sense it's in the cups. I will tinker more.

Only the BB spindle is ti so it isn't ti on ti creaking.
Maybe some more grease/copaslip on the tapers?
