another raleigh - rat build

That full sus deserves a watery grave, any canals near yours?

yup. gonna put some shite buckled wheels on it. a messed up stem and bars, ride it and try to kill it off, then throw it in the canal.

got a fair bit done today. changed the chain, new gear cables, new brake cables, new rear pads and got some grips on. tuned the gears to near perfection, been out on a test ride and with me riding it flys :)

Could we have some sort of standards on here, PLEASE???

That rear valve stem is really off-set from the tyre label!

And that QR lever is on the wrong side.

Tut tut....

seriously? tyre stem valve offset from the tyre label? what the hell.
the QR lever is now on the other side, the front wheel was only put on like that for mock up and for the brakes to be done.
sorry for not making my bike a show queen.

well that was a failure!

Apologies! It was the irony of a rat-bike looking untidy when compared to some of the builds that pop up...

I'll go back to my cupboard and crayons.

this is just something cobbled together out of any parts i could find/the full sus i rode for a bit. built to be comfortable over anything and something i honestly couldnt care about if it got nicked when i leave it at train station/bus station, even though it will always get heavily locked.
my other raleigh will kind of be more like other builds on here.

had an accident earlyish this morning, went along my usual route i like to ride most sundays, coming back, on the last roundabout, smash into a car, wearing helmet for first time and i was wearing my usual clobber so injuries arent too bad, just a few cuts and bruises. bike is now missing a wheel (actually dont know whats happened to it), snapped part of the front brake calliper, cant tell in pics but the forks themselves are actually bent, handlebars have been knocked back, brake lever is buggered, bars possibly bent, grip is torn and i have a buckled rear wheel with a flat tyre.
should have it riding again pretty soon.

lol ok i wont sand the paint back but im leaving most of the blue on ! (was on when i got it) put it over my shoulder and stopped every mile, im sure it was quite a funny sight ! :) already done a bit to it -
wheels have been changed - bullhorns are on - i have installed some suspension forks that were on my full sus and the brake callipers are on

Carried it all that way :D

Surely it would have been easier to buy a tube and repair the front tyre :D
