Hi

I have seen a bike for sale outside someones garage.

I had a quick look and from what I can make out its a Raleigh Pioneer (I think) in burgundy, lightweight 4130 cromo frame. It has RSP hubs front and rear.

Assuming it is a Pioneer is it worth buying, the price is £60 ?

Some of those Pioneers are great bikes ; I don't recall a burgundy one but the old Pioneer Trails etc. were fundamentally 29'ers YEARS ahead of the curve. I'd give 60 quid for one of those.

I only had a quick look over it, it was maroon/burgundy, shimano brake levers, cantis, 4130 cromo tubing and the hubs were shiny alloy with RSP on them, possibly Raleigh Special Products ?

Ill drive by tomorrow and have another check ;)

And it was £40 and not £60

I never said they weren't good. I merely said they weren't worth any money.

I know :)

I am a sucker for Raleighs of that age, just don't know much about the Pioneer.

As long as its not built and designed like the (dare I type the word) activator ;)

Whats wrong with the Activator?!

I have a RSP (Raleigh Special Products) hubs here and it's pretty low end.
